Gift Wrapped

May 17, 2017

When we think of what kinds of events are appropriate for gift-giving, we think of weddings, birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day…the list goes on and on.

We love to give and receive gifts and it’s a natural part of our culture to do so.  We give gifts because it’s one of the ways we can express our love to another person.

God has given us 2 gifts to enjoy.  They cost us nothing yet they cost Him everything.

The first free gift is our salvation; He redeemed and saved us.  He died on the cross for our sins.   Why?  Because He loves us!

The second free gift is the Holy Spirit. We are not saved by good works – we are saved only by His mercy and grace.

How often should we be filled with the Holy Spirit?  Every. Single. Day.

If God is offering these 2 gifts as His expression of love for us, what keeps people from running  to the altar to receive them?
